Paul’s notes on his Last Supper pantings:
There are many hidden symbols and meanings which mean something to me in both paintings which can be found on studying the pictures.
Rock & Roll Last Supper
1. Bob Marley – I met him in Los Angeles in the 1970s when I filmed him as a boom cameraman at the Santa Barbara Bowl and was lucky enough to play football with him afterwards. An inspirational man and a great football player.
5. Jimi Hendrix – I saw him play at the Dagenham Roundhouse with my sister Jo in the 1960s – he changed my whole musical outlook.
6 & 7 & 8 & 12 - I have many amazing memories of my time spent with the Rolling Stones during the 30 years that my sister was married to Ronnie Wood.
15. Chris Squire - visited me at my art studio in Leigh-on-Sea when I painted his Rickenbacker bass guitars.
Black Last Supper
2. Nelson Mandela – My Mother, Rachel, grew up in the Transvaal in South Africa and was asked out by Nelson Mandela when she a teenager.
10. Bob Marley – as above
